Dream Home: Kid's Room

"Badal pe paanv he ya chuta gaanv he ...ab to bhai chal padi apni ye naav he" song had become one of our favourite song for a while as on it my otherwise shy lad (only for Dance) did a group performance in School Annual Function.
He had to participate as it was mandatory activity as part of extra-curricular activities. I thoroughly enjoyed his dance performance when he practices at home for it.

Playfulness of that performance somewhere back in my mind struck the idea to decide the theme "Badal" when we were designing the kids Room. This room has false ceiling with three cream coloured clouds on white base. One of the cloud holds the fan in similar colour, while others have cove lighting to give the cloud silver lining and floating appearance.

Kid's room is most vibrant in colour in the entire house. Woodwork done in it is in sunny yellow and wooden brown.

Front wall has a window seating in wooden brown colour and it has two long cupboards on either side to give the wall a symmetrical look. Both of the cupboards has a open shelf in yellow colour too this is supposed to be play and display station for my kid's car collection and his other craft work. These shelf are well lit with in built light to make traffic jam interesting. Below the open shelves there is pull out study table too, much like the keyboard pull out kind of tray in old age computer table. The room has three study table in all, in case the family go on Binge Reading our favourite books 😉

Single Bed in the room is bridge and seat for both side study table and lying too in case book is way too interesting and engrossing you.

Opposite to this wall has  proper study table with attached long book shelf with closed and open shelves.

Open shelf on tall study to keep the daily essential to let him get ready independent and his most used day to day books for easy access. Study table has white board too It is handy for anything he want to remember or see often. I learnt this technique in my school days when I want to remember something I wanted to see it again and again so we put on paper and stick to wall until we remember that.

There are 6 small storage above study table two. They form a checkard kind of pattern in yellow and brown colour. My son uses 2 open shelf to display his shield he won and other display items.

Other Side of the wall has my painting of Yashoda and Krishna. We (me and my son) love this painting a lot, and have enacted the pose many a times since his childhood. The simple silly act make us feel happy and contented about the motherhood and painting.

True that Kids unleash the little child within you and let you relive the childhood again.
